Bulls' Guard Earns Prestigious Honor for Elite Defensive Performance

Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso has been named to the 2022-23 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team, the NBA announced today. The honor recognizes Caruso's outstanding defensive contributions to the Bulls' success this season.

Caruso, 29, has emerged as one of the league's top wing defenders, excelling in a variety of defensive roles. His quick hands, athleticism, and high basketball IQ have made him a nightmare for opposing guards and forwards alike.

In 68 games this season (67 starts), Caruso has averaged 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, while holding opponents to just 36.5% shooting from the field. He has also been a key contributor to the Bulls' success on the defensive end, helping them rank among the top teams in the NBA in defensive efficiency.

Caruso's All-Defensive First Team selection is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and defensive prowess. He is the first Bulls player to earn the honor since Jimmy Butler in 2016-17.

The 2022-23 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team also includes Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics), Mikal Bridges (Phoenix Suns), Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks), and Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers).
